July 22-23 Thursday-Friday
Arrival and Registration
Venue: City Tourism Office, City Hall Compound, Gingoog City

2:00 PM – Witness the Kaliga Street Dancing at Rizal Park, Gingoog City
4:00 PM – Short ride to Mt. Balatukan Scout Camp, Sitio San Isidro, Brgy. Lunotan
5:00 PM – Arrival at Mt. Balatukan Scout Camp (elevation: 1,400 mASL)
7:00 PM – President’s Meeting

July 24 Saturday
6:00 AM – Alpine assault to Mt. Balatukan to South Peak (Rosas Pandan Peak)
1:00 – 5:00 PM – Back to Scout Camp
5:30 PM – Short ride to the Socials venue (Freedom Park)
6:30 PM – Dinner Program, distributions of certificates, t-shirts and giveaways
8:30 PM – PARTY ’til morning

July 25 Sunday send-off/homeward bound

Registration fee: Php 450.00/pax. Includes (1) event trail ID, (1) souvenir t-shirt, (1) certificate of attendance, (1/pax) dinner, transportation (city to and from Boy Scout Camp), miscellaneous fees.

TNF Thrill of the Trail 2010

This will be an exciting and challenging race just like previous races of TNF. This will give athletes a memorable experience since it will involve different challenges from river crossing, hill climbs, rock scrambling and running on grass fields. Just like last year Pinoy Ultra Runners will take part in managing and designing the race course.

This race will also provide a glimpse of what The North Face is preparing this commng April, The North Face 100Km ultra marathon(which will also involve other trail run distance, 10km, 20km and 50km perfect for those who want to finish an ultra marathon. More details to follow in the coming days. See you at the starting lines.

TNF RACE DETAILS

Date: February 14, 2010, Sunday
Start: Nuvali, Laguna, 5:00 a.m.
Distance: 11k | 22k | 11k couples trail run. Partners should arrive at the finish line at the same time.

Philippine Caving Society

The Philippine Caving Society (PCS) believes: that caves have unique scientific, recreational, and scenic values; that these values are endangered by both carelessness and intentional vandalism; that these values, once gone, cannot be recovered; and that the responsibility for protecting caves must be assumed by those who study and enjoy them.

ABOUT PCS

The initial objectives of two people in 1999 were towards cave diving. Before and during various short cave diving excursions, other divers were trained in Basic and Advanced SRT to function as support team. This gave rise to interest in “caving” per se. The year 2000 gave way to more caving trip among the group. Caves located at the outskirts of Manila became favorite destinations during weekends and caving trips to the karst regions up north in the mountain provinces were organized.
